- Before going for an interview, the primary thing to do is research about the company you are going to visit. Their goals, their vision, their products, their rivals etc. Everything has to be known to you. Take down notes in order to keep it in mind.
- Practice makes man perfect is the best phrase for you if you are going to appear for an interview. Practice with your friend, by looking in the mirror and see yourself how your confidence reflects. This is called self judging, which helps a lot.
- Being intelligent or smart doesn’t reflect immediately, as the first thing that the employer sees is your persona. Thus, dress in such a way that your intelligence and smartness will go with your dressing sense as well, and the employer will also be impressed.
- There are other basic etiquettes to be followed as the employer marks that also. For example, being on time, reporting 15 to 20 minutes before the interview, greeting the employer with a smile and not with a nervous face, maintain eye contact with the panel of interviewers, avoid all negative aspects (you should be able to change negative to positive and that’s your skill), be gentle, and lastly, show your positive attitude, confidence and also show that you are keen to do the job.
- You can prepare sample questions from any book and also regarding what the interviewer is going to ask. The employer will throw questions, but you should be able to answer it with grace and confidence. This is where your research knowledge will help you to gain the confidence of the employer.
- While concluding, greet the employer with a thank you note. You should be grateful to the employer for taking out their precious time for your interview. It gives a gesture of your respect towards them and your sincerity.
